About me

Based in the Netherlands, I began my career as an illustrator in 2001. In those early years, I embraced a wide variety of assignments—ranging from editorial work and newspaper caricatures to children's books and commercials. This diverse background demanded immense versatility, teaching me how to adapt quickly under creative direction, hit tight deadlines, and master a multitude of artistic techniques.
Over time, I discovered the world of animation and became deeply captivated by the behind-the-scenes creative process, where concepts are shaped to tell compelling stories. Focusing my expertise on character design, I have since contributed to projects for leading global studios, including Netflix, Paramount, Sony, and Skydance.
Parallel to my commercial animation work, my lifelong passion for drawing and painting remains central to who I am. I constantly use my personal art to explore my relationship with the world, driven by a philosophical fascination with what a drawing or painting truly represents.
Ultimately, my approach to fine art and character design constantly overlap: in both realms, I am fueled by a relentless desire to avoid repetition and discover entirely new ways of looking at reality.
